Full Worm Moon Energy + Lunar Eclipse

Welcome!

This is the third step in our 13 Moons Journey, bringing our attention to the Worm Moon, a name rich in symbolism and cultural connection. Originating from Native American tribes, the Worm Moon signifies nature’s softening, a gentle invitation to life after winter’s quiet rest. It gets its name because it coincides with the emergence of earthworms as the ground begins to thaw.

Alternate names for this moon include the Sap Moon, named after the flow of maple sap, and the Crust Moon, referring to the thawing and freezing cycles that create layers of crusty ice on the earth.

Spiritually, worms embody deep personal growth, reflection, and transformation. Like worms gently turning soil beneath our feet, we're reminded of the subtle yet powerful shifts occurring beneath the surface of our lives. Worms encourage us to explore our internal landscapes—our subconscious thoughts, feelings, and hidden dreams.

This moon gently guides us to nurture the seeds of our intentions, inviting patience, curiosity, and a trusting openness as we allow our inner truths to surface.

The Worm Moon beautifully aligns with Earth’s awakening energy. The soil softens, preparing to nurture new life, mirroring our own gentle emergence from the inward reflection of winter into spring’s creative, playful energy. This period supports a thoughtful, gentle transition as we become curious about both the outer world and our inner experiences.

Lunar Eclipse

March's full moon brings with it a powerful celestial event—a total lunar eclipse, known as the Blood Worm Moon. On Friday, 14 March, the eclipse begins at 3.57 am GMT, reaching its visible peak at 6.19 am before disappearing below the horizon. During this eclipse, the moon takes on a striking red-orange color, created as sunlight passes through Earth's atmosphere, filtering out shorter wavelengths and bathing the moon in warm, red hues.

Lunar eclipses carry deep cultural significance across the globe, often symbolizing moments of significant transformation and renewal. Historically viewed as a time to let go of old patterns and embrace new beginnings, eclipses also highlight our karmic energies—the attachments and cycles we find ourselves repeatedly drawn into.

The Blood Worm Moon particularly invites us to recognize these karmic loops, gently guiding us to detach from identifying with past experiences and enabling us to release what no longer serves our truest self.

Journal Prompts for the Worm Moon:

  1. Seeds of Intention: What dreams, ideas, or intentions feel ready to be planted and nurtured during this transition into spring?

  2. Inner Awakening: What subtle shifts or new awareness is gently emerging within me after winter’s stillness?

  3. Gentle Growth: In what ways can I support myself with patience and compassion, allowing my growth to unfold naturally?

  4. Curiosity and Exploration: What new questions am I holding about myself and my path, and how might exploring these lead to fresh insights?

  5. Transformation and Release: Where am I noticing patterns or attachments in my life that no longer support my authentic self, and how can I honorably release them?

Worm Moon Visualization Practice

Close your eyes and invite the softening energy of early spring into your awareness. Imagine yourself walking through a gently thawing landscape beneath the glow of the Worm Moon.

Feel the ground beneath your feet—soft, fertile, and subtly alive as earthworms quietly emerge, awakening the soil with their gentle movements. Notice the fresh scent of earth in the air, the soft whispers of new growth.

As you move slowly through this landscape, observe how nature patiently begins to awaken. Feel this gentle awakening reflected within you as well.

What subtle shifts or sensations do you notice?

What emotions arise as you reflect on nature’s quiet strength and patience?

Allow the Worm Moon’s gentle, nurturing energy to fill you, reminding you to:

  • Nurture the seeds of your intentions with patience and care

  • Honor the gradual, gentle unfolding of your own inner growth

  • Trust in the subtle yet powerful transformations happening quietly beneath the surface

Earth Blessing Ritual:

Fill a small bowl with soil, representing fertility and new beginnings. Hold it in your hands and quietly whisper intentions of patience, renewal, and gentle awakening into the earth.

Gently place your fingers in the soil, feeling its softness and life-giving energy. Anoint your heart, womb, and third eye with this soil, symbolizing a connection to your inner wisdom and grounded emotional growth.

Gratitude and Reflection Writing Practice:

Write down three subtle signs of growth and awakening you're currently noticing in your life, even if they are small or hidden. Reflect on what has gently emerged since the previous moon—both insights and challenges.

Write down any subtle subconscious patterns or attachments surfacing, and explore what they're asking you to understand, nurture, or release.

Gentle Movement for Inner Awakening (5-10 minutes):

Play soft, nurturing music. Move your body gently and intuitively, connecting with the earth beneath your feet.

Feel grounded and connected, allowing your body to softly explore new movements, releasing tension and embracing curiosity and renewal.

Sidereal Astrology

Sidereal vs. Tropical Astrology

Sidereal astrology uses the real positions of the stars in the sky to create your chart. It differs from tropical astrology. Because the Earth’s position slowly shifts over time, sidereal astrology reflects where the stars actually are today, while tropical astrology keeps the zodiac signs fixed to the seasons. As a result, your zodiac sign might be different in sidereal astrology compared to tropical astrology.

Sun in Pisces: Water Element

Sun in Pisces: Awakening to Your True Life

As the Sun moves into Pisces, we're invited into a gentle yet powerful journey inward. Pisces, symbolized by two fish swimming in opposite directions, represents the subtle dance between our conscious world and the intuitive depths within us.

This season encourages us to explore the waters of our awareness, diving beneath the surface to question the attachments we've formed and the truths we may have hidden from ourselves.

Pisces energy holds us gently yet firmly, reminding us that our strength lies not in rigid self-control but in compassionate acceptance. Instead of spiraling into patterns of shame when we notice our attachments or unhealthy cycles, Pisces encourages deep love and gentle understanding.

It's about lovingly observing our patterns, understanding their origins, and courageously choosing to let go of what no longer serves our real, authentic self.

When we reflect during this Piscean season, we are not called into cycles of shame, guilt, or self-criticism. Rather, we're invited into compassionate self-awareness. By clearly seeing what hooks us emotionally or spiritually, we can hold these insights with deep love, acknowledge the attachments gently, and consciously choose release.

The vibrant pulse of life calls us to participate actively in our reality, the living, breathing, pulsating world around us. Pisces urges us toward our true purpose, our authentic life, not one overshadowed by societal expectations or habitual distractions.

The invitation is clear: Identify what genuinely nurtures your soul, what fills you with vitality, and align your actions and intentions to this true, pulsating rhythm of existence.

As you navigate this soft yet powerful energy, consider the following reflections:

  • What aspects of my life truly bring me alive, and how can I engage more fully with them?

  • Which attachments or distractions currently drain my energy and keep me distant from my authentic path?

  • How can I hold compassion for myself as I gently release outdated emotional ties?

  • In what areas am I ready to dive deeper beneath the surface to reveal the truths I’ve hidden from myself?

  • How can I consciously cultivate gentle, compassionate awareness in my daily interactions, choices, and relationships?

Moon in Virgo: Earth Element

Virgo, an earth sign, grounds us with practical, nurturing energy. this grounding influence helps us discern what truly nourishes our spirit, encouraging mindful action and thoughtful preparation as we move towards the equinox.

During this Virgo moon, you may notice an increased desire to connect meaningfully and authentically with those around you. Embrace this impulse by prioritizing nourishing, quality time with loved ones. This could mean heartfelt conversations in person, writing thoughtful letters, or even enjoying heartfelt FaceTime calls. Whatever form this connection takes, let it be intentional, nurturing, and deeply satisfying.

This Moon’s energy also encourages you to create order gently, inviting clarity and structure without rigidity. It's a perfect moment to thoughtfully organize, cleanse, and simplify both your physical surroundings and your emotional landscape. By creating this supportive foundation, you invite the playful curiosity of the Maiden to emerge fully.

Consider these reflective practices during the Virgo Moon:

  • Connect deeply: Spend meaningful, quality one-on-one time with someone special, prioritizing genuine interaction.

  • Creative play: Engage in activities purely for joy and exploration, without attachment to outcome.

  • Mindful decluttering: Clear your physical and emotional spaces, making room for fresh ideas and energy.

  • Write heartfelt letters: Share your thoughts, gratitude, and care through personalized letters, bridging heartfelt connections.
