Welcome,
As the Wolf Moon rises, I'm reminded of our deep connection with the natural world and its creatures. After my recent post on Instagram went wild, reaching over 300k people, I realized the incredible power we hold to make a difference. Imagine if even a fraction of those who saw the post signed a petition to protect wolves, one of Earth's most misunderstood and vital creatures.
Last night, I dreamt of wolves, and a realization hit me hard this morning. We, as a collective, can create meaningful change—not just as an abstract concept, but as a direct action. Through our voices, our bodies, and our love for the Earth, we can reconnect with nature, unhook from the systems that harm it, and truly make a shift.
This isn't just a romantic idea; it's about coming into real, conscious relationship with the world around us, honoring the beings that walk this Earth alongside us, like the wolves.
The Wolf Moon is more than just a celestial event. It's a reminder that we are part of something much larger—an interconnected web of life that calls us to act. Let's use this moment to amplify the voices of those who cannot speak for themselves. Together, we can create a world where the howls of wolves are heard in harmony with the beating hearts of all living beings.

What's Happening?
In Europe, wolf populations have been on the rise. In response, countries recently voted to downgrade their protection status under the Bern Convention, allowing regulated hunting starting March 2025. This decision has sparked outrage from conservation groups, who warn it threatens efforts to maintain biodiversity (Reuters).
In North America, the battle continues between federal protections and state-level hunting allowances. Practices like "wolf whacking" in Wyoming and illegal killings in Arizona highlight ongoing challenges in wolf conservation (AP News; The Times).
Why Protect Wolves?
Wolves play a vital role in maintaining balanced ecosystems. As apex predators, they control populations of prey animals, supporting plant life and fostering biodiversity. The loss of wolves disrupts these natural systems, leading to overgrazing and ecological imbalance.
The Impact of Hunting
Killing wolves, whether through legal hunting or illegal poaching, not only reduces their numbers but also disrupts social structures within packs. This fragmentation can increase livestock predation, ironically exacerbating the very problem hunting is meant to solve.
Wolves in Indigenous Traditions: Guardians of Balance and Wisdom
In Indigenous traditions across North America, wolves are revered as powerful spiritual beings and teachers of life lessons. Many Native American cultures view the wolf as a symbol of loyalty, courage, and family, often embodying the balance between independence and cooperation.
Wolves are seen as protectors and guides, teaching humans about leadership, perseverance, and living harmoniously within a community. Their howls are believed to carry messages across great distances, bridging the physical and spiritual worlds. For many Indigenous peoples, the survival of wolves is deeply tied to their connection with the land, respect for nature, and cultural heritage, making wolf conservation a matter of both ecological and spiritual significance.
How WE Can Help?
