Weekly Reading: Sidereal Astrology, Tarot, and the Waxing Moon on October 10th – Curiosity and Inspiration

Dear Sister,

Before we begin, I'd like to say thank you for supporting these weekly readings; donations are welcome as a gesture of reciprocity for the lifeforce shared in creating these moments of reflection each week. (Donation Link)

Let's begin,

The waxing half-moon greets us on the 10th of October, aligning us with the energies of spring and the Maiden archetype. This phase marks a reemergence from the inner underworld, a time of coming back into the light after deep reflection. We carry the gifts of insight and wisdom from the darkness, ready to manifest them into our reality for both personal growth and the collective good.

The waxing moon, associated with the rising sun in the east and the air element, invites us to reflect on our words and thoughts through prayer and ritual, cleansing our energy and sending heartfelt messages into the universe.

What brings you joy and makes you feel light (Waxing moon / air energy) ? Here are my lists:

  • Dancing outside

  • Singing or chanting

  • Exploring new places

  • Cloud watching

  • Journaling my ideas

  • Trying new tea blends

  • Filling my space with uplifting scents

As we tune into the intentions we set last week, let’s challenge ourselves to implement one actionable step this week to bring us closer to our desired harvest on the full moon.

For me, it’s deepening my relationship by dedicating time each night to bodywork for one another. It is a simple yet powerful practice that strengthens or family.

Before we fully transition, let's pause and reflect. How was the Dark Moon for you? With the end of the eclipse season, what surfaced in your life? What realizations or themes presented themselves? If you want to go deeper into those reflections, you can revisit the blog on the Dark Moon and solar eclipses.

Take a moment to tune into your body. What does curiosity feel like within you? How does your body move, breathe, and exist when guided by soul inspiration? Close your eyes, and feel into that sensation. Imagine yourself as a flower, just beginning to rise above the earth's surface after the seed has grown deep roots. Fresh, curious, and moving your awareness toward the outside world, you stretch upward, reaching for light.

Perhaps your journey this past month has been intense. You may be feeling the need to replenish. If so, consider replenishing with curiosity. Try something new—a different herbal tea, a new breathwork practice, or even a walk down a path you've never taken before. Allow yourself to explore with openness, trusting that whatever comes will nourish your spirit.

This week is perfect for:

  • Setting and checking in with your intentions for the month

  • Creating plans for the weeks ahead

  • Dancing and exploring life in both the spiritual and physical realms

Let this week be a bridge between reflection and action, embracing the balance of curiosity and creation as you move forward.

Sun in Virgo

As the sun continues its journey through Virgo, we're called to deepen our connection with the outside world, refining how we interact and engage. Virgo's energy invites us to create routines with intention—building solid foundations for ourselves, our families, and our communities. By doing so, we offer the mind a place to rest, allowing the heart to come out and play.

For some, this practice of creating structure may feel challenging, especially if you've been raised in a strict household or lived within controlling systems for too long. I can personally relate to this, having spent 12 years in the military. After leaving, I resisted any form of structure, feeling the urge to break free from anything that felt confining. Yet, over time, I've discovered the balance. Virgo’s energy reminds me of the sacredness of ceremony—a space intentionally crafted so the heart can feel safe enough to open.

Lately, I’ve been working on creating more structure for my daughter, Auraya, and our days of exploring the world together. I’ve come to love how Waldorf schools refer to it as rhythm. Everything in nature has a rhythm, from the tides of the ocean to the cycles of the moon, and when we honor that rhythm in our own lives, it brings a sense of peace. I’ve felt this shift deeply, both in myself and within my family, as we move through our days more harmoniously.

This practice of aligning with nature's rhythm is a powerful way to connect with Virgo’s energy—grounding, nourishing, and allowing us to fully open to the world around us with curiosity and trust.

Reflection Question: Where in your life can you invite more rhythm and structure, not as a form of control but as a space for your heart to feel safe, open, and playful?

Moon in Sagittarius

With the Moon in Sagittarius, we are drawn into the energy of fire—passion, curiosity, and a deep longing for freedom and adventure. This time invites us to explore the vast landscapes of self-liberation, especially in areas where we may have felt unsafe or limited in the past. Sagittarius energy encourages us to break through mental boundaries and expand beyond the familiar.

Meanwhile, the Sun remains in Virgo, an earth sign. The combination of Virgo’s groundedness with Sagittarius' fiery passion is powerful. Creating a foundation of safety, rhythm, and stability (Virgo) is what opens the doors to fully experiencing the freedom and expansiveness that Sagittarius brings. It’s a beautiful reminder that adventure and security are not opposing forces but rather two parts of a harmonious whole.

Remember, you are worthy simply because you exist. There’s no need to fit into anyone else’s expectations or mold. It’s more than okay to just be you. Follow your inner flame, let it guide you to light up the areas of your life that have remained unseen. The feeling of true freedom comes from the knowledge that we are all connected to an unchanging source of energy that flows through each of us, uniting us in a shared experience.

Set your intentions and goals now, aiming your arrow with precision. As you take a deep breath, step forward with both purpose and love, trusting the path ahead. This energy encourages a shift in subconscious habits, illuminating old ways of thinking and bringing a fresh, awakened perspective. Eyes that see beyond the surface—beyond what the sleeping cannot perceive—are the gift of this moment.

Reflection Question: What areas of your life are ready to be illuminated by curiosity and passion, and how can you take a bold step toward them with a sense of freedom and trust in your own path?

Tarot Reading

Two of Cups (Message)

Knight of Swords (Topic)

Galactic Mushroom – Divine Matrix (Shaman’s Dream Oracle)

The Seventh Power – Anger is Information (Mary Magdalene Oracle)

“This message calls for slowing down to examine the intense drive within, reconnecting with your heart and the collective, and allowing curiosity and passion to guide you with calm purpose, knowing you are supported and never alone.”

The Knight of Swords represents a powerful, almost forceful drive that pushes you forward with intensity. This drive, while rooted in ambition and purpose, may stem from deeper, unresolved emotions or wounds that need attention. The Knight’s energy can feel overwhelming, urging quick action, but the message here is to slow down. It’s time to examine what lies beneath the surface of this forceful momentum and reflect on the emotions or wounds fueling it.

The Two of Cups speaks to the importance of connecting with your heart and with others. This card gently reminds you that you are not alone on this journey. The healing and clarity you seek come through deep emotional bonds, whether with yourself or others. In times of intensity, it’s essential to remember the support available to you—both from those around you and from the universe itself. There is no need to carry the weight of your experience alone. Just as in the Two of Cups, where love and mutual respect create harmony, so too can slowing down and allowing your heart to open bring greater understanding and support.

This is a calling to rise above the individual focus and align yourself with the greater collective good, as seen in the Galactic Mushroom (Divine Matrix). You are part of something larger, interconnected with all that is. Your worth is not determined by what you achieve or how quickly you move forward, but by your very existence. By tuning into the collective, you will find that your purpose and passion are woven into a larger tapestry of meaning.

As you move forward, let your heart lead. Allow the curiosity and passion within you to guide your actions, but from a place of calm and connection, not force. Once you align with your heart and the spirit of all existence, your drive will no longer be something to rush through, but rather a deep, unwavering flow of purpose, grounded in your connection to yourself and the collective.
